The idea behind Art 4 Art was sparked by a conversation with a friend about our individual interpretations of a song by Canadian band Metric. The conversation transitioned from interpretation to inspiration as we discussed possible short stories the song "The Police and the Private" provoked. Since that fateful conversation, a community of like-minded artists devoted to the production and sharing of art (in any form) has been established and is now known as Art 4 Art, or A4A.
Contributors to this blog have been invited to listen to a song/watch a music video by a variety of Canadian musicians and to create something - anything - out of their experience. Whether it comes from listening to the music or from the visuals of a music video, you can expect drawings, stories, poetry, photography, design, creative non-fiction, and perhaps even more music; art that has been inspired by art. Art for art's sake. The basis of Art 4 Art can be summed up in 4 words: listen, write, design, create. The ambition of this project is to share the creative imaginings of an artistically inclined community and to pay it forward - to hopefully inspire you.
